Baan Kang Wat is a community of artists and artisans located in the foothills of Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai, Thailand. The community is home to over 30 artists and artisans who work in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, embroidery, dyeing, bookbinding, basketry, and leatherwork.
The community was founded in 2009 by a group of artists who wanted to create a space where they could live and work together. The community is organized into a cooperative, which allows the artists to share resources and support each other's work.
Baan Kang Wat is open to the public and offers a variety of activities and events. Visitors can browse the shops and galleries, take workshops, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
