Thailand boasts beautiful and diverse landscapes, with road trip routes offering scenic views of both the coast and majestic mountains. Importantly, Thailand shares a continuous land border on the same continent as Singapore, allowing travelers to conveniently drive from Singapore, through Malaysia, and into Thailand.

Obtainable from Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Certified True Copy by LTA is required (a small fee is payable to LTA for this document).
International Driving Permit (IDP) is not required if you are holding a SDL and driving a Singapore private/company registered vehicle.
Required if the vehicle’s registered owner is not the Driver or the vehicle is company registered. The vehicle owner is required to authorise the named Driver/s with their passport number/s to use the vehicle for the said purpose (tourism) and period in Thailand. The vehicle owner is to sign off the LOA with Name & Address as in NRIC, NRIC No. (these details should be the same as in the LTA document) and mobile phone contact number. Keep a copy of the vehicle owner’s NRIC for checking upon request.

For company registered vehicle, a company Director/representative registered with Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) is required to sign off the LOA with Name, NRIC No., position in the company as in the ACRA document and mobile phone contact number. The vehicle registered address should be the same in both the LTA & ACRA documents. LOA is to be printed on a company letter head. Keep a copy of the ACRA document and the signatory’s NRIC for checking upon request.
Need to be purchased at the Thailand Checkpoint/Border.
Information of Conveyance duly completed (download item 7 from https://division2.immigration.go.th/download/, 2 identical copies required, photocopy acceptable).
Passenger List duly completed (download item 9 from https://division2.immigration.go.th/download/, 2 identical copies required, photocopy acceptable).
Each visitor requires a duly completed Immigration Arrival/Departure card (TM 6 Form) obtainable at the Immigration Office at the Thailand Checkpoint/Border.
All passports must have at least 6 months validity from date of departure from Thailand.

Very Important

A Simplified Customs Declaration Form will be given by the Thailand Customs upon the completion of documentation for vehicle entry into Thailand at the Thailand Checkpoint/Border. Please keep this important Form securely and return it to the Thailand Customs at the departure Checkpoint/Border before leaving Thailand. Failure to do so may result in legal implication.

Other Information

If Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance coverage is required while in Thailand, it has to be arranged with your existing vehicle insurer or other insurers.
Generally, Singapore citizens are given visa-free entry of 30 days into Thailand by road or air. If you wish to stay longer than 30 days in Thailand, a Visa is required. However, kindly check with Royal Thai Embassy (https://www.thaiembassy.sg/contact-us) before you travel as entry regulations may change at short notices.
