Natai Pier
Phang Nga’s Walk-In Diving Playground
STORY
See & Do

Set along Natai Beach in Takua Thung district, between Phuket and Khao Lak, Natai Pier looks like a simple jetty stretching into the Andaman Sea. But beneath it lies one of Phang Nga’s most distinctive and accessible dive sites.
What makes this place special is its simplicity. There is no need for a boat. Divers can walk straight in from the beach or enter from the end of the pier. With depths ranging from 5 to 10 meters, it is suitable for both scuba diving and freediving, offering relaxed profiles and generous bottom time.
Below the surface, the pier’s pillars have transformed into a thriving artificial reef. Soft corals ripple gently in the current, hard corals anchor themselves to the concrete, and marine invertebrates cover nearly every surface. Schools of fish gather in impressive numbers, weaving between the columns in coordinated movement, turning filtered sunlight into a shifting underwater scene.
Natai Pier is easy to reach, budget-friendly, and possible to explore independently. However, scuba diving is recommended for certified divers only. Tanks and equipment can be rented from dive shops in the Khao Lak area. As always, follow proper dive safety rules, check conditions carefully, and respect the fragile marine ecosystem.
Sometimes the most compelling underwater worlds are not far offshore—they are waiting just a few steps from the sand.
